Dr. Dawnna Walton
MD
Dr. Walton received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston after graduating with her B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. Upon completion of medical school, as a recipient of the Army Health Professions Scholarship, she served as an active duty officer and physician in the army where she was honored to care for the brave men and women serving their country alongside her. During her army career, she received numerous awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon, and was Honorably Discharged at the rank of Major.
Dr. Walton later returned to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston to complete her Anesthesiology training where she was elected Chief Resident and received many other honors for excellence including the Resident of the Year Award, as well as the Clinical Competence Committee Letter of Commendation. After completing her residency, Dr. Walton remained at UTMB to complete a highly competitive Fellowship training program in Interventional Pain Medicine. She has since been serving the Greater Houston Area in the field of Interventional Pain Management.
Dr. Dawnna Walton is Double Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine. She is a mother of two, a mentor to aspiring physicians, and a motivational speaker. As a physician, she believes in compassionate and comprehensive care to improve her patients’ quality of life. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports competitions, cooking, traveling, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
